Before small group this past Wednesday our youth guessed what the students in our group were HUGE fans of like music, reality tv shows, musicals, panthers, peanut butter, etc. This brought up what the qualifications would be for others to believe you were such a fan like wearing their t-shirt designs, knowing all their stats or words of all their lyrics, going to all their shows or smelling of it all the time? We then asked the question how this applied spiritually. Are we HUGE fans of God? Does it show? If you are struggling with your answer ...ask God to help you yearn to be a fan (follower) of His in 2016. Who knows, before long maybe your JOY in knowing God will stick out all over you...and there will be no question whether you are God's #1 fan. I know God is yours...for sure!

GOOD MORNING! Today, Sunday, Dec. 27, Bible study groups will start at FBC Huntersville at 10:00 am in the Discipleship Center and then there will be one joint service in the Sanctuary at 11:15 am. The scripture lesson for the Bible study groups is on 1 Samuel 2: 18-26 and can focus on "Keeping Your Eyes on the Ball", "Overcoming Your Circumstances By Vision", or "Investing Deeply". These are good messages as we transition into a new year. Hope you'll be able to join us and make this new year count!

Currently have 46 registered for the Blast Retreat on Nov. 7 & 8!  Awesome chaps include Greg Bass, Garren Thomas, Teresa Mims, Aileen Ramirez, Cindy Meckola, Patty Towler, Scott Stevens and myself.  Thanks so much and prayers are welcome!

The Youth Council wants to offer an additional night to the Blast Retreat (not an up-all-night) the Friday before the retreat, Nov. 6, at the church to give youth more time to bond & grow friendships before leaving on the retreat.   This night is optional.  Details for the Friday night are still in the works but here are some initial thoughts:

1) The Additional Friday Overnight is for FBC-H youth attending the BLAST RETREAT (&/or) youth that couldn’t attend the retreat due to scheduling conflicts.  The goal of this additional night is to bond the students in our youth group and get them ready for what they will experience on the retreat.
2) There will be a midnight curfew so they are all rested for the retreat.
3) Adults chaps are needed for this Friday night only, this is Adults willing to stay Friday night and go home Saturday morning.  I need to have my BLAST Retreat chaps well rested for the weekend! Please contact me this week if you can help in anyway.  I will be away from the church this weekend and next week.
4) Students coming Friday will need to bring $5 for pizza delivery & breakfast.   I would also recommend them bringing any snacks or drinks they would like for the evening.
5) Remember there will be no cellular phones, tablets, or i-Pods on the Blast Retreat.  So you will need to bring a flashlight and a watch to be on time to activities.
6) On Saturday morning around 8:00 am students will load the luggage with the goal of leaving around 8:30 am to Look Up Lodge.  Any students attending Friday night (only) should make arrangements to be picked up no later than 8:30 am. Breakfast items will be available at 7:00 am allowing a brief time for cleanup.

Keep watch for more retreat details to come such as what time to arrive on Friday if you’re attending the additional Friday night.

CALLING ALL YOUTH: Tonight we need help breaking down the tents from World Hunger & moving boxes of clothes from Lydia's Loft to the truck going to West Virginia. We need to do this all before it rains again which is scheduled to happen this evening. If you find yourself available right after school, come on to the church! Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!
