NO Sunday Activities..due to SNOW & ICE!

In case you haven't heard...there are no regular Sunday morning activities due to bad road conditions. Be safe and stay home this morning. There is also no afternoon meetings.

How will you spend the day? Start with this devotional and then go make a snowman (or) woman and post it on your facebook. Hope to see you soon!

Read --- ACTS 9:36-42 & ponder these questions:
1) Like Tabitha, will others remember you for your servant heart? What evidence can you think of that you are leaving behind that others were more important to you?
2) How might you be like Tabitha (Dorcas) being call to "get up" and continue the good race? What is your "good race"?
3) How might you be like Peter being call to do the unthinkable? Are there folks that you are being compelled to wake-up from their cold slumber? Who will get the glory from you trusting God more than your own ability?

Prayer --- Thank you God, for the opportunities to serve others. I show my love to you when I move over and let you lead my heart. Help me decrease that you may increase! Amen.

Pray for People in Haiti

Our brother in Christ, Lionel Dasy, sent a text message this Thursday with news of his family in Haiti saying he received news of one family member dead, one still missing and the rest were homeless with few broken bones. He expressed thanks to all who were praying during this very difficult time....and added one more comment --"How Great God is."

Actionnel shared that gas stations were empty. Means of transportation or distribution were impossible. Food was getting more and more scarced at the market places. Prices for everything was going up rapidly. They had heard reports of 50,000 or 106, 000 had died in PAP. But, from what they had seen on Wednesday, 200,000 death cases in PAP only would not surprise them.

HOW WILL YOU RESPOND?
Our church is preparing to receive donations designated specifically for relief in Haiti. Please consider a gift, above and beyond your tithe, as our initial response to this human tragedy. Your gifts will help ease pain and suffering in Port-Au-Prince.

Continue to PRAY fervently as the Spirit leads you. Today and tomorrow will be most difficult due to how long many have been without food and water.

UPWARD BASKETBALL NEEDS

Volunteers are needed to help with Upward game days which begin next Saturday (1/16). In the past the youth have been a vital part of the game days and are counted on again this season. It is a lot of fun and also is a great way for the youth to pick up any "community service" credits they may need for school.

On game days, we have the following needs: referees, announcer/audio, devotion speakers, clock operator, refreshment table. Youth are needed for any of these volunteer positions (with the exception of referee). On these game days the schedule consist of 8 games each Sat. The season starts on 1/16 and will run through 3/6. Each Sat, the games will be at 9 am, 10 am, 11am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, and 4:30 pm.

Contact Garren Thomas at garrenthomas@roadrunner.com or 704-875-8496 if you are interested and available to help in any way. Vicki Pluer/Polli Mays are heading up devotions and John/Ginny McKenzie are heading up refreshments.
